“Today is a special August 2nd! At a time when we are celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, our nation is gearing up for a collective #HarGharTiranga movement to celebrate our Tricolor. I have changed the DP on my social media and I urge everyone to do the same,” PM Modi tweeted today.
Earlier, the Prime Minister called on the citizens of the country to use “Tiranga” as their profile picture on social networking sites between August 2 and August 15.
“During Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a special movement called ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is being organized from August 13 to 15. Let us take this movement forward by hoisting the national flag on our homes,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his monthly radio program “Mann Ki Baat” on Sunday.
“August 2 is the birth anniversary of Pingli Venkhaiya, who designed the national flag. I request everyone to use ‘tiranga’ as their profile picture on social networking sites between August 2 and August 15,” he said.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah changed his social media DP to tricolor after PM Modi. In this regard, he tweeted and wrote, “I have changed the DP of my social media accounts to Tiranga in response to PM @narendramodi Ji’s loud call to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
