PM Modi launches Vande Bharat Express from Una


Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Vande Bharat Express from Una Railway Station in Himachal Prdaseh on Thursday during his state visit.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Anurag Thakur, Union Minister and Hamirpur representative were also present on the occasion.

This is the fourth Vande Bharat train to run from Amb Andaura to New Delhi in the country, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). It is an updated version compared to the previous ones, being considerably lighter and able to reach a higher speed in a shorter duration.

It only takes 52 seconds to reach 100 km/h. The installation of the train will increase tourism in the area and provide a convenient and fast means of transport.

Ushering in a new era of luxury and enhanced train travel experiences, the new Vande Bharat Express is now ready for commercial operation.

It is the fourth Vande Bharat train in the country, the other three run between New Delhi – Varanasi and New Delhi – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and between Gandhinagar and Mumbai.

According to Railways, the new Vande Bharat trains have improved features such as reclining seats, automatic fire sensors, CCTV cameras, on-demand content with wifi facility, three-hour battery backup and GPS systems to make traveling longer safe and comfortable.

The Integral Coach Factory has set a target of manufacturing 75 Vande Bharat trains by August 2023.
It also has a photocatalytic ultraviolet air purification system in the roof mounted package unit (RMPU) for air purification. Vande Bharat Express is a new era train that will redefine passenger travel in India.
