PM Modi likely to visit Kedarnath on November 5

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], Oct 16 (ANI): Uttarakhand BJP sources said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi may visit Kedarnath on November 5 and inaugurate the statue of Adi Guru Shankaracharya.

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], October 16 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Kedarnath on November 5 and will inaugurate the statue of Adi Guru Shankaracharya, Uttarakhand BJP sources said.
This will be the second visit of the Prime Minister to Uttarakhand in two months. He had inaugurated the oxygen plant at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh on 7 October during his last visit to the state.
Party sources said Prime Minister Modi is likely to inaugurate a statue of his guru Shankaracharya and take stock of the ongoing development projects in the state during his upcoming visit.
Notably, the last Kedarnath visit of the Prime Minister was during the 2019 general election.
Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri and Gangotri are collectively called the Char Dham and the shrines attract lakhs of pilgrims every year.
Meanwhile, assembly elections are due in February 2022 in Uttarakhand along with four more states. (ANI)
