PM Modi thanks Slovakian counterpart for assisting in India’s evacuation process

new Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday spoke to his Slovakian counterpart Eduard Hager and thanked him for the assistance provided by the Slovak Republic for the evacuation of Indian nationals from Ukraine and allowing special evacuation flights from India.

In a phone call, Prime Minister Modi requested the Slovak Republic’s continued assistance over the next few days as well as India’s task of evacuating other civilians from conflict zones.

“The Prime Minister thanked Eduard Hager for the assistance provided by the Slovak Republic in the evacuation of Indian nationals from Ukraine and for allowing special evacuation flights from India. He requested the Slovak Republic for continued assistance over the next few days as India sought Undertaken to evacuate other civilians from the conflict zone,” read a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

Prime Minister Modi also informed Hager about the deployment of Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju as his special envoy to oversee the evacuation efforts of Indian nationals. He expressed his anguish at the ongoing violence and humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, and reiterated India’s relentless appeal for an end to hostilities and a return to dialogue, the statement said, adding that PM Modi has pledged to respect sovereignty and territorial integrity.
