Guided by the Prime Minister’s vision, India’s foreign policy has evolved to assume leadership roles on the global stage. In a major step in this direction, India will assume the G20 chairmanship from December 1, 2022.
The G20 Presidency offers India a unique opportunity to contribute to the global agenda on pressing issues of international importance. The logo, theme and website of our G20 Presidency would reflect India’s message and overall priorities to the world.
The G20 is the main forum for international economic cooperation representing around 85% of world GDP, more than 75% of world trade and approximately two-thirds of the world’s population.
During the course of its G20 chairmanship, India will hold around 200 meetings in 32 different sectors at various locations in India. The G20 summit, to be held next year, would be one of the most prominent international gatherings to be hosted by India.
