New Delhi [India], October 13 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch PM Gatishakti – National Master Plan for Multi-Modal Connectivity at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Gatishakti will address past issues through institutionalizing the overall plan for stakeholders for major infrastructure projects. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said that instead of planning and designing separately in silos, the projects would be designed and executed with a common vision.
It will cover infrastructure schemes of various ministries and state governments like Bharatmala, Sagarmala, Inland Waterways, Arid/Land Ports, UDAN etc. Economic sectors such as textile clusters, pharmaceutical clusters, defense corridors, electronic parks, industrial corridors, fishing clusters, areas to improve agricultural connectivity and make Indian businesses more competitive will be covered.
The PMO said in a release that it will widely leverage the technology including spatial planning tools with ISRO imagery developed by BISAG-N (Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geoinformatics).
Pradhan Mantri Gatishakti is the result of the Prime Minister’s relentless effort to build next generation infrastructure that improves ease of living as well as ease of doing business. Multi-modal connectivity will provide unified and seamless connectivity for movement of people, goods and services from one mode of transport to another. It will facilitate last mile connectivity of infrastructure and also reduce the travel time for the people.
PM Gatishakti will provide information to the public and business community about upcoming connectivity projects, other business centres, industrial areas and the surrounding environment.
“It will enable investors to plan their business at suitable locations which will increase synergies. It will create multiple employment opportunities and boost the economy. It will improve the global competitiveness of local products by cutting and improving logistics cost supply chain, and also ensure proper relationship to local industry and consumers,” read the release.
During the programme, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate the new exhibition complex (Exhibition Halls 2 to 5) at Pragati Maidan. India Trade Promotion Organisation’s flagship event, India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2021 will also be held in these new exhibition halls from November 14-27, 2021. (ANI)
