Police arrests prime accused from Mumbai


Chandigarh: In a joint operation with the central agency and ATS Maharashtra, the Punjab Police nabbed Charat Singh. Singh is a key accused in the May 9 rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) attack on the intelligence headquarters of the Punjab Police in Mohali.

Police arrested the mastermind Charat Singh from Mumbai this morning.

“He is a key operative and associate of Canada-based BKI terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa. Punjab Police will strive to make the state crime-free as per Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s vision,” said DGP Gaurav Yadav.

The attack was allegedly carried out by the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) axis and gangsters with the support of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

The Punjab Police has so far arrested 7 accused in the case.
