Aryan Khan is the son of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan. Prabhakar had accused NCB officers Sameer Wankhede and KP Gosavi of demanding a bribe of 25 crores in exchange for releasing Aryan Khan, who had been arrested in the Cordelia Cruise drug case.
After his allegation, Sameer Wankhede was removed as the investigation officer of the case with the SIT of the NCB replacing him. On the basis of Prabhakar’s allegation, the Minority Welfare Minister of Maharashtra Government Nawab Malik had also made many serious allegations against Sameer Wankhede. After Prabhakar’s death, this issue has once again grabbed the limelight.
Prabhakar had made this allegation
Prabhakar was an independent witness of the NCB in the Aryan Khan drugs case. He claimed that he was also present on the cruise during the raid. Prabhakar had claimed that NCB had forced him to sign on blank papers and he didn’t know about the arrest of Aryan Khan.
Prabhakar had alleged that he had heard Gosavi over phone talking to D’Souza about his demand of Rs 25 crore and the matter was settled at 18 crore as he was to pay Rs 8 crore to Sameer Wankhede.
NCB is investigating after Prabhakar’s allegation
After Prabhakar’s allegations, the Vigilance Wing of NCB started investigation in the matter by forming a team of 4 members. Sameer Wankhede had appeared before the investigation team and kept his explanation. During the investigation, the Vigilance team, appealing for help from the Mumbai Police, wrote a letter to the Mumbai Police Commissioner asking him to produce Prabhakar Sayeel before the NCB’s Vigilance team. It was claimed in the letter that even after calling for two days, Prabhakar has not appeared. The vigilance team of the NCB has already examined several independent witnesses in this case.
Who is Prabhakar Sayeel?
Prabhakar Sayeel, who took selfie with Aryan, was KP Gosavi’s personal bodyguard. In his affidavit, Sayil had made serious allegations against NCB and its zonal director Sameer Wankhede. Sayal had claimed that he had heard KP Gosavi and Sam D’Souza receiving an extortion of Rs 25 crore to release Aryan.
Of this Rs 25 crore, Rs 8 crore was to be given to Samir Wankhede, the zonal director of NCB. Prabhakar had also said that he is not giving statements under any pressure nor is he doing so for money. He also denied having any relation with any minister from Maharashtra.
