Prakash Padukone to receive Lifetime Achievement Award from BWF

Former world No. 1 and first time Indian World Championship medalist, Padukone has contributed a lot to the sport. In 2018, he was also honored with BAI’s Life Time Achievement Award.

New Delhi: India’s legendary badminton player Prakash Padukone will receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the Badminton World Federation (BWF) this year.

Former world No. 1 and first time Indian World Championship medalist, Padukone has contributed a lot to the sport. In 2018, he was also honored with BAI’s Life Time Achievement Award.

The BWF Council shortlisted the Indian legend based on the recommendation of the Awards Commission. The Badminton Association of India (BAI) had submitted its name for the award.

BWF Council has nominated Haryana Badminton Association President Devendra Singh, Maharashtra Badminton Association General Secretary SA Shetty, BAI Vice President Dr OD Sharma and Tournament Committee President and Manik, former Vice President of BAI, for the Meritorious Service Award. Saha.

Alaknanda Ashok, who is the president of the Uttarakhand Badminton Association, will receive the women’s and gender equality award.

She has been associated with badminton administration for many years.
