Set in Bombay of the 1980s and 90s, ‘Scam 1992’ brought fame to actor Prateek Gandhi. The 10-episode series follows the life of Harshad Mehta, an Indian stock broker who single-handedly changed the way brokers trade in the stock market.

Mehta, often referred to as the ‘Big Bull’ of Dalal Street, rose to prominence and suffered a disastrous downfall after being named and charged with several financial crimes in the 1992 securities scam.

It was found that Mehta manipulated the shares by illegally borrowing money from several banks using fake receipts.

The series received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award as Best Web Series 2020; Best Drama Series and Best Direction Award at Asian Academy Creative Awards 2021. It has also received ITA Award for Landmark – OTT, ITA Award for Best Actor – Web Series (to Prateek Gandhi).
