Prime Minister Modi mourns the death of a stock market bull


Death of Rakesh Jhunjhunwala: ‘Stock Market Bull’ Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, the uncrowned king of the stock market, is no more with us. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala died at the age of 62. He breathed his last this morning at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.

He was reportedly ill for a long time. He was last seen in public at the Akasa Air launch ceremony.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the death of Rakesh Jhunjhunwala.

“Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was indomitable. Full of life, witty and insightful, he leaves behind an indelible contribution to the financial world. He was also very passionate about the progress of India. His death is sad. My condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti, PM Modi tweeted.

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala is said to have been discharged from the hospital two or three weeks ago. He was undergoing treatment at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. According to hospital sources, he died before reaching the hospital at 6:45 am.

He had also gone to the hospital a few days ago. He was taken to the hospital this morning after suffering a heart attack. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

About a week ago, he founded his airline, Akasa Air. Akasa Air’s first flight took off from Mumbai to Ahmedabad on August 7. He co-founded the company with aerospace businessmen Aditya Ghosh and Vinay Dubey.
