Ranveer Singh said, “I have loved basketball and the NBA since childhood and have always been fascinated by its impact on popular culture including music, fashion and entertainment.”

New Delhi: Ranveer Singh was on Thursday appointed as the brand ambassador of the National Basketball Association (NBA) for India. The Bollywood star says that he has been in love with basketball and NBA since childhood.

Ranveer said, “I have loved basketball and the NBA since childhood and have always been fascinated by its impact on popular culture, including music, fashion and entertainment.”

“With the announcement of the celebration of the 75th season of the NBA, there could not have been a better time to join the league and support their efforts to grow basketball in the country,” he said.

NBA Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer Mark Tatum said: “An icon of Bollywood and one of the most celebrated actors of his generation, Ranveer is also a devoted NBA fan who is passionate about the league and its players. Excited to work together. Ranveer will engage with fans across platforms in India and across the globe.”

“Ranveer is the perfect ambassador to headline the launch of our new Instagram handle, NBA Style, which explores the intersection of basketball and culture,” said Scott Levy, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, NBA Asia.

In this capacity, Ranveer will attend the NBA All-Star 2022 in Cleveland, where he will post behind-the-scenes social media content and meet NBA players and legends. He has previously participated in the 2016 NBA All-Star in Toronto.
