Rape victim withdraws statement, Pak cricketer Yasir Shah freed


Karachi: Pakistan legspinner Yasir Shah has been cleared of rape charges against a minor girl after the victim withdrew his name from the FIR.

It has been revealed that Yasir’s name was mentioned in the First Information Report (FIR) due to misrepresentation and he has nothing to do with the rape.

Earlier, the girl’s aunt had filed an FIR accusing Yasir’s friend Farhanuddin of raping her niece at gunpoint, and also said that Yasir had threatened the aunt when she filed a complaint against Farhanuddin. wanted to register.

A case was registered against the pair on December 19 under sections 292-B (child pornography) and 292-C (punishment for rape) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The PCB had earlier said, “We have noticed that some allegations have been made against one of our centrally contracted players. The PCB is currently gathering information on its end and will comment only when the facts are in full.”
