Los Angeles: American rapper Kodak Black was arrested on Saturday on a trespasser charge in South Florida, officials said. Earlier, he was sentenced to three years in federal prison by President Donald Trump for falsifying documents used to buy weapons on his last day in office in 2020.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a local newspaper reported that the Broward Sheriff’s Office said Black was taken into custody early Saturday morning in his hometown of Pompano Beach. Investigators did not immediately release details about what led to the arrest. Black, whose legal name is Bill Capri, later posted bond and was released, the newspaper reported.

Black was sentenced to three years in federal prison for falsifying documents used to buy weapons at a Miami gun store, which was commuted by President Donald Trump on his last day in office in 2020. He had served half his sentence.

He was later sentenced to probation last April for assaulting a teenager in a hotel room in South Carolina. Black was originally charged with rape, but accepted a deal and pleaded guilty to first-degree assault.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Black has sold over 30 million singles and has several multiplatinum and platinum-certified singles, including “Zaze”, “No Flockin'” and “Roll in Peace”.
