The popular Indian dish Chicken Tikka Masala was first made in Scotland in 1971.

The hottest chili

India is home to one of the world’s hottest chili peppers—the bhut jolokia, or ghost pepper—which is estimated to be about 400 times hotter than Tabasco sauce. Cultivated in the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland and Manipur, the chili was named the hottest in the world by Guinness World Records in 2007, although it lost its place in the following years.
