Adelaide: Adelaide Strikers on Monday confirmed that the franchise has re-signed Rashid Khan for the upcoming Big Bash League (BBL).
Currently representing Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League, Rashid has reiterated his love for the city of Adelaide as well as the ardent striker fans across the country and the world in the blue throughout his years. “I won’t leave this club. I love Adelaide, the fans, the team, everyone. It’s a great honor for me to play here for the Strikers. I love playing in front of a beautiful crowd at the Adelaide Oval. My favorite in the world One of the grounds, especially the New YearHat is a night that is always on my mind; I have always wanted to play that night,” Rashid said in an official release.
He said, “There is a lot of love from the crowd. Not only during games but always when I am in Adelaide. The fans love and respect me so much and I try to give my best to put a smile on their face. “
As a striker with the ball in hand, Rashid’s numbers show 50 games, 72 wickets, 105 dot balls, an average of 17.46 and a strike rate of 16.19. On the other side of the coin are 314 runs including 20 sixes at a strike rate of 155.45. Star’s BBL resume also includes 13 catches taken on the field.
These numbers, while remarkable, tell only a small part of Rashid Khan’s story. Ready to wear blue for the fifth season, he has become much more to the strikers than a major wicket-taker and star attraction.
A true star in many international competitions, Rashid brings unparalleled experience along with an approach to the sport that delivers benefits both on and off the field. (ANI)
