New Delhi: Gujarat Giants captain Rashid Khan became the first bowler to take a hat-trick in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on Sunday, April 9. It was the 13th match of the league between Gujarat Titans and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
The 24-year-old spinner dismissed Andre Russell, Sunil Narine and Shardul Thakur in the 17th over to derail Kolkata’s chase.
Rashid Khan hat trick
Gujarat Titans skipper Rashid Khan took his first hat-trick of the season. Andre Russell only 1 and KKR reduced by five. Gujarat slowly regained control. The umpire didn’t give it out, but the GT rating, and DRS said there was an advantage.
Khan then removed KKR’s spinner Sunil Narine. Narine has gone for a duck with the first ball! Rashid Khan got two in two.
On the hat-trick ball, Shardul Thakur faced Rashid Khan and was out! VERTICAL! LBW Rashid Khan had the CONTACT! Rashid Khan became the first player to score a hat-trick in IPL 2023.
