New Delhi: Indian oil marketing companies published the latest prices of petrol and diesel today as usual. However, Indian oil companies also kept the prices of petrol and diesel stable on Friday. Thus, today is the 118th consecutive day when there was no change in the price of gasoline and diesel in the country.

The state oil companies published the prices of gasoline and diesel for Friday, September 16. The oil companies did not change the price of gasoline and diesel, so they have been making it easier for ordinary people for the 118th day. In other words, fuel prices are still stable today. On the other hand, the price of crude oil on the international market has continuously decreased in recent days. Currently, Brett crude oil is trading at around $92 per barrel.

The government reduced the excise tax on May 21. The excise duty on petrol has been reduced by Rs 8 per liter and diesel by Rs 6 per litre. Since then, the price of gasoline and diesel has decreased. After that, diesel became cheaper by Rs 9.50 and Rs 7 per liter in the country. After the Centre’s announcement, the governments of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Odisha and Kerala also reduced VAT.

Currently, petrol price in Delhi is Rs 96.72 per liter and diesel price is Rs 89.62 per litre. At the same time, petrol fetches Rs 106.31 and diesel Rs 94.27 per liter in Mumbai. While petrol in Kolkata is Rs 106.03 and diesel is Rs 92.76 per litre. In contrast, in Chennai, petrol is available at Rs 102.63 and diesel at Rs 94.24.
