The world’s largest blood donation campaign: A blood donation record is being set on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday (September 17). On this day, a million units of blood are planned to be collected across the country. The Union Health Ministry has sent a letter to all states and union territories informing them about this campaign. Amrit Mahotsav blood donation starts on this day. Not only that, but also the way the real-time data of corona vaccination is displayed. Similarly, on September 17, blood donation data will be updated live on the website of the Ministry of Health.

According to the information, the Ministry of Health announced in a letter that this action will continue until the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day, i.e. until October 1. By participating in the campaign, any healthy person over the age of 18 can donate blood voluntarily. You can do this by registering for voluntary blood donation on the Arogya Setu portal. This registration has already started.

Blood banks have been directed to register and update their details on the central government’s e-Raktkosh portal. The stock is displayed on the e-Rakt Kosh portal according to the blood group available in all public and private blood banks and common people can also check the stock on this portal. The blood donor receives a certificate of participation.

There are approximately 3,900 blood banks in the country, both public and private.
