Los Angeles: British comedian-actor Ricky Gervais returns for his third season of “After Life,” and a new trailer comes ahead of the series’ January 14 renewal on Netflix.
According to Deadline, set in the small fictional town of Tambury, the show follows local newspaper writer Tony, whose life follows his wife’s death from cancer. Still dealing with extreme grief, Tony begins to realize that it is only by making other people feel good that he can find hope and a reason to live. After all, every end is a new beginning.
The cast includes Penelope Wilton, Ashley Jensen, Tom Besden, Tony Way, David Earl, Joe Wilkinson, Carey Godleyman, Joe Hartley, and Diane Morgan, David Bradley, Peter Egan, Ethan Lawrence, Colin Hoult and Michelle Greenidge.
Cath Hughes has joined as a new apprentice, Colleen. Guest stars will include Tim Key, Dave Hill, Wendy Albiston, Ricky Grover, Ben Hull, Cole Anderson-James and Kate Robbins.
According to Deadline, the Netflix original series is produced by Derek Productions. The series is produced, written and directed by Gervais, who also serves as executive producer with Duncan Hayes.
