Adelaide: The selection of Rishabh Pant in the starting XI for the semi-finals of the 2022 T20 World Cup is in question. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant has picked his dream team T20I and some of the Indian star players didn’t make it to the cut.
Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav are currently in great form helping their side win games at the World Cup but they are not good enough for wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant as he decides not to include them in his Dream T20I team.
Pant instead opted for England captain Jos Butler and Liam Livingstone. Along with himself on the team, he selected Jasprit Bumrah and Afghan bowling wizard Rashid Khan in the top five of the Dream Team.
Rishabh Pant gives this reason for his choice
After making his first five dream team picks, he said, “The first five players I would pick for my team in a T20 XI are… Jos Buttler. Whenever he hits, especially in T20s, I feel like he can hit anywhere in the world.
When selecting the bowlers, he said: “And Rashid, he’s been a mystery weirdo for six, seven years. I love him and he can also contribute with the bat.”
“Because I choose this team, I have to be there,” Pant said, laughing. I have to choose myself, that’s why I went there,” he added.
Question marks over the inclusion of Rishabh Pant in Team India playing XI
Rishabh Pant was part of the T20 World Cup team but did not play in the first four games. Rohit Sharma picked him up as India played a safe game against Zimbabwe ahead of the semifinals.
