Roger Binny to replace Sourav Ganguly as BCCI president: Report


New Delhi: Former India cricketer Sourav Ganguly will not contest the election for the post of BCCI president. Now, reports suggest that Roger Binny is likely to take over the post while Jas Shah will continue to serve as the BCCI secretary.

Who is Roger Binny?

Binny is a former Indian cricketer and was a part of India’s World Cup winning team in 1983. He has also served as a member of the BCCI selection committee earlier.

Why will he replace Sourav Ganguly?

Sourav Ganguly is currently serving as the BCCI president but has refused to contest the upcoming elections. Consequently, BCCI is on the hunt for a new president. While Roger Binny’s name appeared on the draft BRRI Electoral Rolls. This led to speculation of his position.

When is the BCCI president election?

The process will start on October 11, as the submission of nominations will take place on October 11 and 12 and the election will be held on October 18.
