‘RRR’ box office collection day 6: Ram Charan and Jr. NTR film surpasses Sooryavanshi’s first week collection


New Delhi: RRR continues its dream run at the box office. After passing the Monday test with flying colours, the SS Rajamouli directorial had cash registers ringing during mid-week as well. On Wednesday, the film, starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles, earned Rs 13 crore at the domestic box office, as per the figures shared by film critic Taran Adarsh. He also shared that the film has surpassed post pandemic hit Sooryavanshi’s one week collection in just six days.

Meanwhile, worldwide, the film has by now minted over Rs 600 crores and is currently marching towards 700 crores, which is more than Rs 100 Crore per day so far ever since its release (in 6 days).

RRR is now the world’s highest-grossing film in the opening weekend. To achieve this feat, RRR overtook The Batman and The Lost City.

While RRR made $60 million USD (Rs 450 crore approx), The Batman and The Lost City collected $45.5 million USD (Rs 344 crore) and #35 million USD (Rs 265 crore), respectively. Going by this collection report, RRR is miles ahead of The Batman and The Lost City. The film  is also expected to enter Rs 100 crore club this week. 

RRR is a period film made on a huge budget of Rs 400 crore with two leading superstars of the Telugu film industry. Ram Charan will essay the younger version of Alluri Seetharamaraja and Jr NTR will be seen as Komaram Bheem. 

After multiple delays owing to the pandemic, RRR hit theatres on March 25. The film also stars Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt and Shriya Saran in pivotal roles.
