Moscow: Voices of protest are rising inside Russia against the attack on Ukraine. In many cities, including Russia’s capital Moscow, people are protesting against the war in Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine on Thursday morning.

Over 1700 people detained

Russian police have detained more than 1,700 protesters in dozens of cities. According to a report in the Moscow Times, demonstrations also took place from the southern city of Tolyatti to the far eastern city of Khabarovsk.

, Demonstrations also took place in the capital Moscow and St. Petersburg. In Moscow alone 100 people have been detained. Social activist Marina on Thursday urged Russians to participate in a march against the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
