Russian President Putin’s ‘granddaughter’ leads fury against invasion of Ukraine

new Delhi: Ksenia Sobchak, the alleged granddaughter of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has led a public outcry against her country’s invasion of Ukraine, along with several prominent Russian celebs.

Socialite and former Russian presidential candidate Sobchak is rumored to be Vladimir Putin’s granddaughter. She has denied the rumors but previously admitted that he attended her baptism.

“Today they woke me up at six o’clock in the morning with the words ‘Ksyusha, the war has begun.’ Not on our land, (but) with our people, yes. We, the Russians, from today’s results for many years to come Will deal with it,” she wrote on Instagram, the Daily Mail reported.

TV presenter and actress Anastasia Ivleeva, who has almost 20 million Instagram followers, also posted a black square commenting: “No war.”

TV host Ivan Urgant also hit out at the situation, commenting: “Fear and pain. Not for war.”

Actress Irina Starshenbaum wrote, “How did we get to this point? Nothing justifies war and I have no words to express the pain and horror of this morning. Ukrainians, please forgive me for being helpless We want an immediate end to these heinous acts.”
