Birmingham: Indian wrestler Sakshi Malik won the gold medal, India’s second in wrestling, when she beat Canadian star Ana Gonzalez.
In the women’s freestyle 62 kg final, Sakshi won the game against another great wrestler in progress. Commonwealth Games 2022.
Sakshi Malik Bags gold medal after a long time
A podium finish in the ongoing CWG2022 has changed the color of Sakshi’s medal from the previous one where she won bronze in Gold Coast.
Sakshi scripted history by winning bronze at the 2016 Rio Olympics, becoming the first Indian woman to win a medal.
Earlier, Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia won the gold medal in men’s freestyle 65 kg category.
Another Indian women’s wrestler, Anshu Malik won the silver medal but couldn’t stop the tears from rolling down her cheeks after losing the game.
