Samrat Abhay Thorat introduced e-shram card program for the upliftment of the unorganized sector


In today’s world many people are yearning for success but few people have big heart and they are helping the needy selflessly. He works day and night to bring change in this society and there is one such person who puts his heart and soul for the betterment of the society, that is Samrat Abhay Thorat. He is a Maharashtrian who lives in Pune and has not only achieved many milestones in his entire career but has also encouraged the youth and showcased a prosperous life. Emperor’s career gained momentum when he became the president of a social organization called Sambhaji Brigade. Today he is working as a member of the Law Committee of PMC and in addition he is also a Councilor from the BJP side in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

Emperors have always been determined to fulfill the promises made to the people. Even as the entire world was in the grip of the Covid-19 pandemic, the emperor did not think twice before taking a step forward and helping others in whatever way he could. Recently, he started the e-shram card program, which proved to be very successful and beneficial for the workers in the unorganized sector. Through the program he got all the information about various schemes and facilities and with this he has to register for e-shram card as well as for aadhar card, pan card, caste certificate, voter id card, insurance schemes etc. I helped people.

The camp was organized from April 1 to April 4 at Khadkamal Ali, Near Ganesh Mandir Ground Area, Near Phadgate Police Station, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Road, Shukravar Peth, Pune. E-Shram Card is one of the major programs launched by the central government to help the working class. Unorganized sector workers who are not members of Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) or Employees’ State Insurance Corporation can get financial assistance in any part of the country by applying for e-Shram Card (ESIC).

The e-Shram Card was launched by the Ministry of Labor and Employment through which the registered candidates will receive a 12 digit Unique Identification Number (UAN). The number will remain the same for the lifetime of the worker and they do not need to renew the card. All they have to do is to update the account once a year. Like the Aadhar card, UAN will also give a unique identity to the workers. The registration process is hassle free and a person has to register himself only through the e-shram portal or Common Service Center or Regional Office of the State Government in the districts or sub-districts.

Candidate age should be between 16 to 59 years to fulfill the eligibility criteria. For registration, applicants must have an Aadhaar card and a working mobile number linked to their Aadhaar and a bank account. E-shram cards come with many benefits like insurance, financial aid, job opportunities and many social security schemes. In addition to this, it will also enable workers to get pension after 60 years of age.

Around 25 crore people have already registered themselves on the e-shram portal and the government aims to register 38 crore unorganized workers. This campaign was started with a view to give the unorganized sector workers the benefits they are entitled to. Samrat Abhay Thorat’s selfless efforts to provide the best for the people has made him an inspiration for generations.
