Sanjay Raut writes to mother

Bombay: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, who is in prison for money laundering, has written an emotional letter to his mother, assuring her he will definitely come back.

Sanjay Raut wrote this letter to his mother on August 8, a week after his arrest. This letter was tweeted from Sanjay Raut’s Twitter handle on Wednesday.

Raut’s pre-trial detention in connection with the Patra Chawl land fraud case was extended on Monday until October 17.

“Shiv Sena is our mother as you are my mother. I was pressured to be dishonest with my mother,” Raut said in a letter, adding that he had to go to jail because he wasn’t afraid of the threats.

“Shiv Sena is like a mother to me. I was pressured to be dishonest with my mother. There have been threats asking me not to speak out against the government. I ignored these threats. For this one reason I am away from you today. But don’t worry, Uddhav Thackeray and Shiv Sainiks will take care of you,” the letter said.

Everyone is aware that false and false allegations have been framed against him and that he is being withdrawn from testimony at gunpoint, Raut claimed.

It has been many years since I wrote you a letter, Sanjay said, adding that the central government gave an opportunity to write this letter.

Raut was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on August 1 in connection with alleged financial irregularities in the redevelopment of the Patra Chawl in the Mumbai suburb of Goregaon.
