New Delhi: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Monday reiterated his concern over the arrest of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

“The first signature of the letter is mine. We would like the Prime Minister to take our concerns seriously. For example, in the Kejriwal government, the person who worked well in the education sector and was praised by many is arrested,” the NCP leader said.

This came a day after nine opposition parties across India wrote a joint letter to Prime Minister Modi over Manish Sisodia’s arrest, alleging misuse of central investigative agencies.

In the letter, several prominent parties, including the TMC and BRS, claimed that the agencies would not take any action against those who later join the Bharatiya Janata Party to avoid investigation.

In this regard, the parties have named former Congress leader and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and BJP MLA Suvendu Adhikar, a former member of Mamata Banerjee-led TMC.

“There are many examples of such arrests. At the same time, those who were accused did not take action against them after they joined that party (BJP),” Sharad Pawar added.
