New Delhi: Actor and singer Shehnaaz Gill’s father Santokh Singh Sokhi Gill receives a death threat over a phone call. During a phone call, an unknown person threatened Shehnaaz’s father that they would kill him before Diwali. Shehnaaz Gill’s father got a call while he was on his way from Punjab’s Beas to Tarantan.

Santokh Singh said he has filed a police complaint after the threat call. He further alleged that the caller identified himself as ‘Happy’ and has threatened to kill him before Diwali.

He said, “I reached the Amritsar Rural Police SSP on Saturday to file a complaint.”

Santokh further added, “Today we filed a complaint with SSP Amritsar Rural. Yesterday I received a threat call from a person named Happy who threatened to kill me before Diwali. I think they want to attack me because I am a Hindu leader.”

Asking the police to take necessary action, Shehnaaz’s father said, “If no arrests are made, I will soon be forced to leave Punjab and settle elsewhere.”

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police (SP) Jaswant Kaur assured, “The incident will be investigated and action will be taken.”

To mention, this is not the first time that Santokh Singh has received a death threat. Before, an attempt was made to kill him. In 2021, Santok joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and was attacked by two unknown persons on 25 December. The two accused had fired at Santok.
