New Delhi: Skoda Auto India on Thursday announced its decision to launch a new sedan Slavia in India this year. This new offering of the company will compete with Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. c-section.
There is an interesting story behind the name ‘Slavia’. In fact, this was the name of the first bicycle that the founders of the company produced in 1896. This car is the second Koda model launched under the company’s 2.0 strategy for India.
Slavia may be slightly larger in size than Rapid. Also, many attractive features can be seen in this car. However, there is a possibility that some of the features available in this car may be borrowed from the Kushak SUV. Also, two turbo petrol engines can be found as an option under the bonnet hood.
Launching the Slavia in India is seen as a bold move for Skoda. Because the sales of the sedan segment have declined. Due to which Toyota has recently discontinued its sedan Yaris. On the other hand, other cars like Ciaz, Verna and City are also not able to perform like before.
