Mumbai: Actor Sonu Sood, who has earned a huge fan base for his philanthropic work amid the coronavirus pandemic, has now launched ‘Desh Ke Liye’ campaign to combat drug addiction.
Talking further about it, Sonu said, “I think there are a lot of people who are suffering because of drugs. They want to come out of it but they can’t. Earlier, I got brand of anti-drug campaign. Was made ambassador. And in Punjab, we tried to help a lot of people. But, later when I went to the grassroots level, I realized that there are many families who want their kids out of drug issue Want to withdraw. But, they are not doing so. Able to be in rehab or treatment required drugs for a few months.” “Therefore, we are launching this platform named ‘Desh Ke Liye’ where anyone can register and inform us about the people who are suffering due to drugs,” he added.
According to Sonu, the main objective of this campaign is to make India drug-free.
He said, “We will take care of his rehab, medicines and holistic treatment. This will be a platform that will help save many lives, save many families and make you a hero. The idea behind this is to be a hero. Be a hero, save a person and help them come out of addiction.”
“This is a unique initiative and I am sure we will be able to save a lot of lives. We are starting from Punjab, but have received a lot of requests. Eventually, it will be a pan-India thing. People have always Punjab has been called. Udta Punjab but, through this initiative, we want to turn it into Utha Punjab. I hope together we will be able to save many lives.”
