Speeding truck rams into divider, claims 4 lives


New Delhi: An unidentified speeding truck ran over six people who were sleeping on the road junction in the national capital, Delhi. The incident was reported from Seemapuri area in the wee hours of Wednesday. The accident claimed the lives of four people, and many were injured, the police informed.

2 died on the spot

The two persons died on the spot. One person was brought to the hospital as dead, and another person died during treatment.

According to the Delhi Police, the accident took place around 1:51 am. The truck crossed the signal light of Delhi Transport Corporation Depot at Seemapuri.

“Today on September 21, at around 01:51 am, an unknown lorry/slashed/cut across the red light at DTC Depot and was proceeding towards DLF T-point with reckless and negligent driving which crushed/injured six persons who were sleeping at the intersection,” police said. . .

The deceased have been identified

The deceased have been identified as Kareem (52), Chotte Khans (25), Shah Alam (38) and Rahul (45), while the injured include 16-year-old Manish and 30-year-old Pradeep.

“Several teams have been set up to search for the vehicle involved. The case was registered at the appropriate sections,” the police said. The case is under further investigation.
