Swati Maliwal gets rape threat on Instagram


New Delhi: Delhi Commission for Women president Swati Maliwal received rape threats on Instagram. Maliwal was threatened via two different Instagram accounts.

Both users used profanity against her and threatened to rape her. Swati Maliwal filed a formal complaint with the Delhi Police. He also requested that a case be initiated against both the persons.

Swati Maliwal disclosed this information in a tweet. He wrote, “Ever since I wrote a letter to I&B Minister to bail #SajidKhan out of Bigg Boss, I have been receiving rape threats on Instagram. They obviously want to stop our work. I am filing a complaint with the Delhi Police. Register FIR and investigate. Those behind them will be arrested!”

Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal had written a letter to Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur a day earlier, demanding the removal of filmmaker and director Sajid Khan from the reality show Big Boss. In 2018, Sajid Khan was accused of sexual harassment by many women associated with the film industry.
