Five Sri Lankan players played on the pitch to score 97 runs for the team, with Bhanu Rajapaksa scoring the highest 42 off 27 balls.
Sri Lanka lost the first wicket of Kusal Perera to Ruben Trumpelman after 1.5 overs. The second wicket was taken by Bernard Scholtz as he bowled straight into the wicket to Pathum Nisanka.
The third wicket that Nambia took from Sri Lanka was Dinesh Chandimal after 5.1 overs.
Avishka Fernando proved he didn’t come on the pitch to return empty-handed when he scored 30 off 28 balls, winning with the team.
Nambia were previously unable to score a big enough for their opponent, with all their players returning to the dressing room three balls before their 20 overs. The team could only score 96 runs on the ground of Abu Dhabi at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
Then the African nation could not perform brilliantly with its bowling and fielding, losing to its opponent by seven wickets in 13.3 overs.
Sri Lanka’s second group qualifier will be against Ireland on 20 October.
