Madurai: A man was arrested for helping his wife give birth to a child at home by following a YouTube video after the woman gave birth to a stillborn child. The incident took place near Ranipet district of Tamil Nadu.
Gomathi went into labor on Monday after her husband Loganathan tried to help her deliver the baby at home with the help of a YouTube video.
During this, the woman gave birth to a dead child. After that, Gomathi was admitted to the hospital in Vellore in a critical condition where she is undergoing treatment.
Ranipet police conducted investigation on the basis of complaint and arrested Loganathan under sections 304(ii) and 316. Ranipet police is also trying to reach out to her sister regarding the matter.
Tamil Nadu Health Minister M. Subramaniam said, “We have received a complaint and based on that we have registered an FIR. We are taking legal action.”
However, this scene reminds us of the scene from the movie ‘3 Idiots’ where Aamir Khan along with Kareena Kapoor tried to give birth to the baby through a video call, which was far away from the place of delivery. The circumstances of the Gomti incident are still unknown but this scenario has been a complete failure.
