Teachers, staff in Delhi govt schools to be ‘on leave’ if not COVID19 vaccinated by Oct 15

“We all know that the country is threatened by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is necessary to take all effective measures to contain its spread,” the order issued by the Directorate of Education said.

New Delhi: In a stern move, the Delhi government announced that teachers, non-teaching staff of government schools will be considered on leave on October 15 against COVID19.

“We all know that the country is threatened by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is necessary to take all effective measures to contain its spread. Schools under DoE have been reopened in a phased manner, so it is the Delhi government We are concerned that proper implementation of SOPs and measures keeps the environment of the schools safe,” the order issued by the Directorate of Education read.

“It is necessary that the Directorate of Education should ensure that the teachers and staff of all government schools are vaccinated on an urgent basis, therefore the heads of all government schools in the Directorate of Education were directed to take all necessary steps to vaccinate all government school teachers. on an urgent basis,” it added.

“Further, in order to ensure that all students/teachers/other school staff remain safe and secure, all DDEs (Districts), DDEs (Zones) of Directorate of Education and HOS of Government Schools are directed to ensure that – that all teachers and school staff who have not vaccinated should be vaccinated by October 15. All such teachers and school staff who have not vaccinated themselves by October 15 should not be allowed to attend school and His absence will be treated as on leave.

Earlier on Wednesday, after the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) meeting, Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal said, the decision regarding reopening of schools for classes 6 to 8 in Delhi will be taken after the festive season.
