Srinagar: Two teachers were killed in a terrorist attack on a government school in the Idgah area of Srinagar on Thursday. Jammu and Kashmir Police gave this information.
According to reports, two civilians – Sangam school principal Satinder Kaur and teacher Deepak Chand – were shot at by the terrorists at point blank range.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has condemned the killing of two teachers in a school in Srinagar.
“The perpetrators of the heinous terror attacks on innocent people will be given a befitting reply. The terrorists and their patrons will not succeed in disrupting the peace, progress and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
This comes after three civilians were shot dead by terrorists at three different places on October 5.
According to the Kashmir Zone Police, the terrorists opened fire on Makhan Lal Bindru, the owner of Bindru Medicate near Iqbal Park. “He was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The area has been cordoned off and searches are on to nab the terrorists,” police said in a tweet.
The second attack took place near Madina Chowk Lalbazar in Srinagar where terrorists killed a non-local. Kashmir Zone Police tweeted, “The deceased has been identified as Virendra Paswan, resident of Bhagalpur Bihar, presently a street vendor residing in Alamgari Bazar Jadibal. Search is on in the area.”
Meanwhile, a third incident was reported in Shahgund area of Bandipora, in which terrorists shot dead a civilian, who was later identified as Mohammad Shafi Lone, a resident of Naidkhai. Police said the area has been cordoned off and search is on to nab the terrorists.
