Weather systems:
A low pressure area has formed near the northern part of the Andaman Sea and the southeastern part of the Bay of Bengal. An associated cyclonic circulation that extends up to 7.6 kilometers above sea level. It is likely to move in a west-northwest direction and concentrate in a depression by October 22 over the Central and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal. It may intensify into a cyclonic storm over west-central Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours.
A trough extends from the North Andaman Sea to the coast of Tamil Nadu.
A cyclonic circulation continues over the East Central Arabian Sea near the Maharashtra coast. A north-south trough extends from the Kerala coast to a cyclonic circulation over the western Arabian Sea. Western Disturbances are moving eastward.

During the last 24 hours, Tamil Nadu, south Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands received light to moderate rain with a few heavy spells.
light to moderate rain and snowfall occurred over Jammu and Kashmir, parts of Himachal Pradesh and at one or two places in Uttarakhand.
Light to moderate rain occurred over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, South Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, South Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Light rain occurred over coastal Karnataka, Odisha and isolated over Arunachal Pradesh.

During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain and snow may occur over the Western Himalayas during the next 24 hours, tapering off thereafter.
Light to moderate rain with few heavy spells may occur over Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Light to moderate rain is possible over Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and one or two places over South Chhattisgarh.
Light rain is possible over Konkan, Goa and Odisha.
