The fitness problem continues in the English team, facing injuries

New Delhi: England is all set to take on India in the second semi-final of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. The English side continue to struggle ahead of the big game as their key players are suffering from injuries. Earlier, Dawid Malan was injured and now Pacer Mark Wood has emerged as the latest concern.

Mark Wood has been an important part of the team as his performance has been crucial throughout the tournament. Taking 9 wickets at an average of 12.00 and an economy rate of 7.71, he has saved England in difficult times.

While playing against Sri Lanka, Malan had injured his groin and was taken off the field. The former world number 1 did not bat again and clouds of doubt hover over his fitness.

Moeen Ali worried about Dawid Malan

England vice-captain Moeen Ali is worried about Malan’s injury and said he is not looking well. Speaking to the BBC, Ali revealed that his injury “doesn’t look great”.

He said: “He’s a great player and has been for many years. He’s been one of our best players. I don’t know, but (Malan’s injury) doesn’t look great.”

“It doesn’t get bigger and better than playing India anywhere in the world because of the crowds and they are such a big and strong team in cricket,” he added.

Phil Salt is the only player in the England squad who can replace the star batsman.
