The new Maruti Grand Vitara hybrid SUV will soon be launched in India

New Delhi: New media test drives of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara have begun ahead of its launch this month and we will soon bring you our detailed test drive review of the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. The SUV is the first mid-size hybrid from the company and is based on the 2022 Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

Both the SUVs promise India’s best mileage for any petrol vehicle and will challenge the status quo in the mid-size segment dominated by Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder was recently launched in the country, though pricing has been partially revealed, only for the powerful hybrid variants.

This price announcement combined with previous reports of Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara price leaks gives us an insight into Maruti’s plans for the Grand Vitara.

New Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara: Expected Price

Given the Hyryder’s pricing and given the history of the Maruti Suzuki-Toyota partnership, we now know that India’s largest carmaker will keep the new powerful hybrid variants of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara at more competitive than the 2022 Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

Transmission options will include a 5-speed MT and a 6-speed AT. This engine will also be available in an AWD configuration with a manual transmission only. AWD versions will also include several drive modes: Sport, Snow, Auto and Lock.
