The report claims that the new Apple Watch Series 8 Rugged Edition will have a larger screen measuring 2 inches in diagonal length. That’s slightly larger than the Apple Watch Series 7’s 1.9-inch display. The standard Watch Series 8 will continue with the 1.9-inch display, according to the report. The new Rugged model will get about 7% more screen real estate than the standard Apple Watch. Apple will charge a premium for the new Rugged version and its benefits. The current Apple Watch Series 7 starts at a price of Rs 41,900. The athlete-centric hardware will be priced higher than the standard variant.

In terms of build quality, Apple will use stronger metal than the standard version. The screen will also be more shatter resistant compared to the standard version. Normally, Apple uses aluminum for its Watch series. Another advantage that the rugged version will offer is a larger battery. It will provide slightly better standby time.

The new Apple Watch 8 series will most likely have the body temperature detection feature. This feature should also be seen in the standard Apple Watch Series 8. Apple will also be working on improving tracking sensors to measure things like elevation.

The new Apple Watch series will be powered by the S8 processor which will be a small upgrade from the S7 chip. New Apple Watches are usually launched alongside the latest series of iPhones. We can expect the new series to launch around September.
