New Delhi: Aadhaar card of a child is not mandatory to avail the benefits of supplementary nutrition program of Anganwadi service scheme. The benefits of the scheme can be accessed through the mother’s Aadhaar card.

Digitized Anganwadi Service through POSHAN tracker

The Ministry is digitizing the Anganwadi service scheme through the POSHAN Tracker app. It will allow the Ministry to identify the beneficiaries as part of the program as a whole. In this way, an uninterrupted supply of food will be ensured for the children, pregnant women, nursing mothers and adolescent beneficiaries. Especially those moving in or out of state for any reason.

A migration module to move from one AWC to another has been provided in POSHAN Tracker to facilitate nutrition for migrating beneficiaries.

More than 10.63 million registered beneficiaries

So far, approximately 10.63 million beneficiaries have been registered under the scheme according to POSHAN Tracker. About 53% have been Aadhar verified covering around 5.61 million beneficiaries. However, all registered beneficiaries benefit from the scheme.
