But in August it sold a total of 15,085 units, the best-selling car and second number. The segment’s popular SUV, Hyundai Creta, ranked third with sales of 12,577 units last month. Compared to August 2021, there has been a slight decrease in sales of 0.1 percent.
Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Eeco follow in fourth and fifth place with 12,006 and 11,999 units sold respectively. The Eeco, the only van sold in India, posted year-on-year sales growth of 12 percent.
Hyundai Venue and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga are sixth and seventh with 11,240 and 9,314 units sold respectively. In August 2021, the venue sold 8,377 units while the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga sold 6,251 units.
Hyundai Venue and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga posted growth of 34 percent year-on-year and 49 percent in August 2022.
In the list of top 10 best-selling commercial vehicles in August 2022, Kia Seltos, Mahindra Bolero and Kia Sonnet are ranked 8th, 9th and 10th, respectively. 8,652 units of Kia Seltos, 8,246 units of Mahindra Bolero and 7,838 units of Kia Sonnet were sold.
Annual sales growth was recorded for all three models. Mahindra Bolero sales are up 156 percent.
It is worth noting that almost all companies have a long wait time for their cars for many reasons. In such a situation, customers first book the car and get it delivered in a few days.
The same applies to these cars as well. Cars are booked even before they arrive at the showroom.
