Wanted to go to final: Rahul Dravid
In the post-match press conference, Rahul Dravid said, “Disappointing end in the semis. Would love to go to the final. They were the better team in all departments. It’s hard to think things over after a loss like this. Overall, we did a lot. Well done campaign. Good skill shown. We can see the things we have improved and prepare it for the next World Cup.
Should have been able to get 180-185, said head coach
“The runs on the board were few… in the semifinal…. We are batting well in the tournament. It’s just that maybe when the game started, the boys said the wicket was slow and sticky. Our last over was good. We should have been able to score 180-185,” said the India head coach.
Too early to talk about senior players: Former India captain
When asked what action will be taken against the senior players, Rahul Dravid said, “On the future of senior players in the squad, Dravid said, it is too early to talk about it right after the game. This is not the right time to talk about this. We will try and build for the next World Cup.”
England played well and it is a fact: Dravid
“England played well and that’s the reality. He brought down the run rate, he controlled the game. He didn’t need to take any risk, it’s not like he didn’t because he played some really good shots too. This is definitely disappointing. Defeat is not the right word for it, definitely disappointing,” Dravid signed off with a troubled face.
