New Delhi: Police arrested three women for pickpocketing in Delhi Metro. First they target the train, surround the victim, distract them and steal the wallet, bag, etc. The police are investigating the case.
How it is used to commit a crime
The accused hail from Faridpuri and Anand Parvat. On April 1, the victim reported to the Metro Police that gold jewelry and other valuables were stolen from her suitcase. The incident took place on the metro line between Karol Bagh and Rajiv Chowk. When the authorities searched the CCTV footage, they discovered three suspicious women. The three women were then taken into custody. Women victimized people in crowded places. The authorities are investigating the previous criminal histories of the three women.

This year, from January 1 to November 20, the CISF caught 451 pickpockets, of which 415 were women and only 36 were men. In June, 115 female pickpockets were arrested, while only one male. In October, 26 female pickpockets were caught, but no sneak thieves were arrested.
Most of these ladies are well-educated and well-dressed, carry computers and bags, and appear to be other commuters, making them incredibly difficult to identify and only caught in the act.
