New Delhi: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Monday opened the slots for darshan for January 2022 at Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh. The temple is reopening for the devotees who will have to follow the COVID-19 protocol.
The temple was closed for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown.
For January 1 and January 13 to 22, TTD has issued 20,000 tickets per day, while for January 2 to 12 and January 23 to 31, 12,000 tickets will be sold.
As per reports, TTD has issued 5,500 virtual service tickets online for January 1, 2, 13, 22 and 26. Tickets were booked within minutes.
Each service ticket will cost Rs 1 crore on all days, while the service ticket will cost Rs 1.50 crore on Friday. Tickets will be available both online and offline for the devotees.
Reports said the board is planning to use the money collected from ticket sales for three major projects, including the construction of a super-specialty children’s hospital.
Devotees visiting the temple will have to be fully vaccinated and carry a certificate of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 report for darshan.
For ticket booking, the authorities will have to provide the details of the Aadhar card.
