“Jagged Little Pill” author Diablo Cody won the trophy for best book and Adrienne Warren won the gold for her role in “Tina – The Tina Turner Musical.”

New Delhi: It’s time to celebrate theatre! The 74th Annual Tony Awards was broadcast live on Sunday night with host Audra McDonald, in recognition of outstanding work from the 2019-2020 season, which was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Broadway and theaters went dark in March 2020 amid growing health concerns as the world battled the pandemic. Recently the curtain has been lifted from the theater industry. On Sunday, Tony looked back and finally paid tribute to the nominees who have been waiting to find out if they won.

According to Variety, the big winners of the ceremony included “Moulin Rouge: The Musical,” which won 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Another big winner was “A Soldier’s Play” which garnered a Tony Award for actor David Alan Grier and took home the Tony for Best Revival of a Play.
