During the inauguration, AAP convener said, “We are trying to make Delhi’s judiciary a model for entire country. 30,000 lawyers registered scheme for lawyers’ welfare where every lawyer gets Rs 5 lakh health insurance and Rs10 lakh life insurance.”
Under the Chief Minister Advocates Welfare Scheme, the eligible lawyers will get health insurance worth Rs 5 lakh while, they will also get the life insurance of Rs 10 lakh.
Those who are practicing advocates and enrolled with the Bar Council of India are eligible for this scheme.
Earlier in 2021, the Chief Minister had claimed that the state government had provided Rs 12.25 crore rupees aid to the families of 122 lawyers who lost their life to Covid-19 infection.
Kejriwal further promised that the scheme will continue as long as the AAP government will be in power.
