TTP slams Imran Khan, says not looking for ceasefire with Pakistan


The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has denounced Imran Khan and denied reports of a ceasefire and insisted it was not looking for a peace deal with Pakistan.

A media report said the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has denied reports of a ceasefire and insisted that it was not looking for a peace deal with Pakistan.

The top TTP leadership said it was not looking for a peace deal with the Pakistani authorities. According to Pakistan Today, TTP spokesman Muhammad Khurasani said in a statement, “Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan never announced a ceasefire.”

“TTP fighters must continue their attacks, wherever they may be,” the statement said.

Describing the TTP as an “organised movement”, Khurasani said that “there is no rift or faction within the group”.

He insisted that “the movement has a collective policy from which no one can deviate”.

Earlier on Friday, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the government is in talks with some groups within the banned TTP to help the group lay down its arms and get them to agree to abide by the country’s constitution.

Khan said during an interview with TRT World on Friday, “There are various groups that make up the TTP and some of them want to talk to our government for peace. So, we are in talks with them. It’s a reconciliation.” process.”

Imran Khan had made it clear that he was expecting a negotiated settlement but again nothing is certain. It sees talks as the only solution and is ready to ‘forgive’ the TTP if a settlement is reached.
